First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together.

Pastor’s Message

On Feb. 15, the church will see how God uses people’s spiritual gifts. Romans 12:5 says, “The church is a unified body under the headship of Christ, but the members have different functions.”

The Apostle Paul is speaking to the believers collectively, but letting them know that each person has God-given spiritual gifts. These gifts should be exercised with sound judgement and remembering that the distribution of these gifts is for the building up of God’s family.

First Christian will look at the seven spiritual gifts and how to use them for the benefit of the church body.

Weekly Services

Sunday services are held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. and are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Al and Sherry Parmenter will bring the special music this week.

Saturday services from 9:3010:45 a.m. include contemporary songs of worship, led by Gregory Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment.

Midweek Studies

Melli Herrera leads the Monday Bible Study from 10:3011:30 a.m.

Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible Study from 10:3011:30 a.m. and the Friday Prayer and Bible Study from 4-5 p.m.

Scripture of the Week

“But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; yes, I shall joyfully sing of your lovingkindness in the morning,” Psalm 59:16.
