Community Church
Community Church recognized its ministry of prayer on Feb. 8 by highlighting the prayer shawls that have been created, prayed over, and received by those in times of need.
Those who like to knit or crochet and are looking for the next project are asked to consider making a prayer shawl for someone. Those who want a prayer shawl for comfort and warmth in a difficult time should call the church office to see if any are available. Members of the community prayed over the batch of shawls that were featured in the Feb. 8 service, and are now on the way to people this week.
On Feb. 15, Community Church will celebrate God’s presence and the work that he has asked his followers to do. The Scripture this Sunday is Matthew 17:1-8—the transfiguration of Jesus. At the end of the passage, Jesus invites his followers to get up and to not be afraid. It is all too easy these days to give in to fear, and those who are looking for a message of encouragement are welcome to join the service at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary at 14000 Church Place.
People are welcome to come early for a cup of coffee or stay after service for a time of light refreshment. No prior church experience is required. All are welcome who are welcoming to all.
