Residents who are interested in learning how to use a two-way radio are invited to join the next LW Community Emergency Response Team’s (LW CERT) safety class on March 27 at 9 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. Instructors GRF Safety Manager Eloy Gomez, Rosa Fabian, Brian Fitzgerald and Dave Forney will teach residents the lingo and train them to feel capable of using a radio in any emergency situation. Those who already have a two-way radio are welcome to bring it to the class.

At January’s Neighbor-4-Neighbor (N4N) Safety class, Sgt. Brian Gray of the Seal Beach police department explained how the N4N program works and ways for residents to incorporate it into their daily lives in Leisure World. N4N presents an opportunity to get to know neighbors, look out for each other in times of need and band together to withstand and recover from disasters.

The giveaway for January was emergency water won by Gary Sprague.
