The LW Democratic Club is honored to host Congressman Robert Garcia at the membership meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Clubhouse 4, at 1:30 p.m. Due to the recent redistricting that moved Seal Beach into the 42nd Congressional District, this meeting offers a vital opportunity for members to engage with their new federal representative. The club looks forward to discussing the congressman’s legislative priorities and his specific vision for the newly configured CA-42.
Following the organic demonstrations held on Sunday, Jan. 11, organizers are highlighting the massive national response to the tragic death of Renee Good. Thousands of citizens gathered across the United States in a unified, peaceful expression of grief and indignation regarding the circumstances of her passing during an I.C.E. raid in Minnesota. Locally, the movement took hold at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street in Seal Beach, where hundreds of supporters gathered with signs to honor the memory of the young mother of three and demand accountability.
Hospitality Booth
The Democratic Hospitality Booth is open the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month outside Clubhouse 6 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Lunch Bunch
Members are invited to join the club’s lunch bunch at Hof ’s Hut off Seal Beach Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. on the first Wednesdays of each month. The next lunch will be Feb. 4. For more information, email Debbie Wrathall at Debbiewrathall@mac.com.
Voter Education
The next Voter Education session will meet Feb. 11 at 10:30 a.m., in Clubhouse 3, Room 3 to make postcards and call representatives.
