LW Korean Community Church (LWKCC) celebrated the first Sunday service of the year on Jan. 4 with a sermon from Senior Pastor Yong Jang-Young titled “Starting the New Year with Trust in God, and with God Immanuel.”
Speaking from Isaiah 41:10, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand,” Pastor Young conveyed comfort, hope, and unwavering faith to the congregation as it enters the new year.
Throughout the past year, LWKCC experienced significant spiritual and outward growth through God’s abundant grace, and the faith and zeal of the congregation to fulfill God’s will grew even stronger. Congregation members offered deep gratitude, confessing that all these fruits were solely due to God’s guidance and grace.
The pastor emphasized that although the current times are filled with uncertainty and anxiety, such times have existed before, and yet God’s work has never ceased. Pastor Young declared that God remains unchanged despite changing times, and that he continues to save and guide believers.
Pastor Young encouraged the congregation to recognize the urgency of these times, to cherish every moment, and to live 2026 with faith and wisdom, hoping for God’s kingdom. He reaffirmed the congregation that the assurance that God, Immanuel, is with them, upholding and helping those in difficulty and suffering. He encouraged the church not to fear, but to move forward in faith, praying in God’s embrace, and living lives of gratitude for the ministry and grace of Jesus Christ, knowing that God’s righteous right hand firmly holds them.
After the service, all church members gathered together to exchange New Year’s greetings and share warm fellowship.
LWKCC holds a worship service at 14000 Church Place every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. to “plant God’s will in the ground.” An early morning prayer service led by the senior pastor is held at the sanctuary at 6 a.m. from Tuesday-Saturday.
