First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

This week, the church will host a special guest speaker for both Saturday and Sunday services. Bob Ewing is a retired pastor who served at First Christian Church in Huntington Beach for over 30 years. Although retired, he is still very active in ministry, serving as a chaplain for the Huntington Beach Police Department. He will present a message titled “The Power of Presence.” The sermon will emphasize the presence of God in a believer’s life.

Weekly Services

Sunday services are held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. and are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Gregory Black will bring the special music this weekend.

Saturday services from 9:3010:45 a.m. include contemporary songs of worship, led by Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment.

Midweek Studies

Melli Herrera leads the Monday Bible Study from 10:3011:30 a.m.

Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible Study from 10:3011:30 a.m. and the Friday Prayer and Bible Study from 4-5 p.m.

All Leisure World residents are welcome to attend the above services and Bible studies.

Scripture of the Week

“Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplication. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore, my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him,” Psalm 28:6-7.
