Community Emergency Response Team
Seal Beach Police Department’s Sgt. Brian Gray will introduce the Neighbor-4-Neighbor program on Friday, Jan. 23, at 9 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. All residents, including LW Community Emergency Response Team’s (LW CERT)members, are encouraged to attend.
People will learn how cities throughout the country are rolling out the Neighbor-4-Neighbor program, which is based on the old neighborhood watch (this is not a Leisure World or Mutual-sponsored program).
LW residents are “On Our Own” in the event of a disaster, and every resident should have a seven-day supply of food and water and power for each person and pet in their unit. Neighbor-4-Neighbor is an opportunity to get to know neighbors, look out for each other in times of need and band together to withstand and recover from disasters.
For 2026, LW CERT’s bimonthly safety classes will promote and teach all the ways to incorporate the program in Leisure World, no CERT training required.
The next LW CERT safety class will be held on Friday, March 27. Refreshments will be provided.
