Senior Pastor Yong Jang-Yong presided over LW Korean Community Church’s (LWKCC) final worship service of the year on Dec. 28. The sermon reflected on the year-end reckoning of those who have and those who have not, based on Matthew 25:14.

As church members looked back on the past year, people confessed that it was overflowing with God’s grace. Pastor Yong helped people reflect on their faith and how they lived. The preciousness of time, health, relationships and faith, leads to the results of a deep faith. There is no escaping the path that God guides and directs believers.

John 1:16 says “from the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.”

“Now, as we face the time of reckoning, let us understand how we approach God,” said Pastor Yong. “Through faith, hope, love, and wisdom, let us confirm our conviction of faith and, in the coming new year, let us further long for God’s grace and live our lives with actions guided by his word.”

The sermon concluded with an encouragement to document methods of prayer and Bible study in the coming year, sharing a “New Year’s Prayer List” and a one-year Bible reading plan, and urging members to grow into a church that further plants God’s will on earth. The church choir offered praise to God with the song “By God’s Grace,” under the direction of Pastor Samuel Kim.

There was also a farewell message for Deacon Kim Min-Jung, who had served as piano accompanist for over 10 years.

LWKCC’s worship service time has been changed to 11:30 a.m., and all church schedules will be adjusted accordingly.

The church also holds an early morning prayer service at the sanctuary at 6 a.m. Tuesday-Saturday at 14000 Church Place.
