LW Baptist Church

The apostle Paul wrote to the new Christian church in southern Greece to encourage them in their faith. This week, LW Baptist Church will look at his reminder to believers that faith becomes fragile when separated from its proper object, God and his written promises.

Paul prays for the believers as they face the ups and downs of life in his letter. Amid these disturbances, Paul asks for the restoration of their confidence in Christ. Believers’ assurance grows by accepting God’s word through the apostles. Union with Christ includes divine power to overcome spiritual difficulties. Paul writes that his ministry is to strengthen the believers in faith. It is faith in the living God, in his living word, and the new life that the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus, that brings peace to the human heart in life’s troubles.
