MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

by Linda Herman

GRF President

I hope you all had a happy holiday season. This year, staff took the lead on holiday decorations and many of the seasonal festivities, and I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank them—especially our Recreation and Service Maintenance teams. The holiday decorations were fantastic, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces throughout the community.

Many residents attended the Tree Lighting and Menorah Lighting ceremonies, and the Toy Drive Dance was, as usual, well attended. Thank you to everyone who contributed toy donations. Numerous clubs also hosted festive events, adding to the spirit of the season.

I hope you had a chance to see the beautiful winter backdrop at Veterans Plaza, which was later moved to Clubhouse 4. It had been missing for a couple of years, but staff located it in good condition and brought it back for everyone to enjoy.

As we welcome 2026, I am optimistic that GRF and our community are on a positive path forward. David Norvell has now been in the executive director position for nearly a month and has been busy meeting one-on-one with all GRF directors and Mutual presidents. You may also see him out and about in the community—he truly enjoys meeting residents.

The GRF Board is ready to get back to work. If you see a director, please take a moment to thank them for his or her hard volunteer work. Residents are welcome to attend committee and Board meetings in person or watch via livestream.

Here’s to a prosperous and successful New Year.
