In Isaiah 6:8, the prophet received a distinct call and mission, “I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’” Isaiah’s answer is “Here am I! Send me.” His words reveal both his confidence in God and his zeal to deliver whatever God would have him say to his countrymen.

Believers today also have a message to deliver to those around them.

Believers must follow Isaiah’s example in their prompt obedience to deliver the message God has entrusted to them. “Our part is to promptly, unquestioningly obey, then as we go forward, God will divide the water or cleave the mountain or roll away the stone,” said theologian JR Miller.
