First Christian Church
First Christian Church invites all residents to join the service as the church focuses on the teachings of God, straight out of the Holy Bible. First Christian is a friendly church that welcomes all.
Pastor’s Message
In Romans 10:21 the apostle Paul quotes from the Old Testament in Isaiah 65:2 as God is speaking to Israel, “All day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and contrary people.” Prompting the question, “Has God completely rejected his chosen people because of their disobedience?” Paul’s response in Romans 11:1 gives a clear answer: “has God cast away his people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.”
In the remaining part of Romans 11, Paul writes that God has not cast his people, the Israelites aside. God has always had a plan and purpose for his chosen ones and will never cast them aside.
Recalling from Genesis 17:7, “And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.” A promise that God will not forget his chosen ones.
Weekly Services
Sunday services at First Christian Church are from 9:3010:45 a.m. and are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Pat Kogak will bring the special music this week. Saturday services from 9:3010:45 a.m. include contemporary songs of worship, led by Gregory Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment.
Midweek Studies
The Monday Bible study, led by Melli Herrera, resumes Jan. 5 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible Study from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the Friday Prayer and Bible Study from 4-5 p.m.
All Leisure World residents are welcome to attend the above services and Bible studies.
