Sunshine Club celebrates another year
The Sunshine Club celebrated another year of “building bridges for a brighter Leisure World” at its end-of-the-year party on Dec. 19.
The members decorated the room with bright holiday colors to set the scene and enjoyed the catered lunch from California Pizza Kitchen. Over 40 members were in attendance.
During the meeting, club President Anna Derby briefly recapped the meetings and events held during the year, including the club’s summer picnic and the donations made by the club, including the $1,500 donation to the Golden Age Foundation for the gift basket program.
After the lunch and presentation, Nina Da Rosa lifted spirits by singing “White Christmas,” “Silver Bells,” “Winter Wonderland” and many more holiday songs with members. Those who attended the party received a surprise small gift from the club.
Sunshine Club began in 2012 and will kick off its 14th year on Friday, Jan. 9, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m. with GRF Security Director Victor Rocha as the club’s first speaker.
