Leisure World Cares Fund recognizes donors

The Leisure World Cares Fund gratefully acknowledges the more than 70 donors who have contributed during 2025 toward its mission of contributing to housing security to Leisure World residents. Most recently among the donors was the Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Leisure World Pinochle Club.

Donations support the fund’s ability to offer grants of $200 per month for 12 months to residents struggling to pay their HOA assessments.

A powerful way for individuals 70.5 years and older to support causes they care about is by making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from their IRA. This method offers significant tax advantages. The amount distributed counts toward satisfying the donor’s Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year, potentially lowering their adjusted gross income by avoiding the income tax typically associated with IRA withdrawals.

Donations can be made directly from their retirement account to the Leisure World Cares Fund (EIN 33-4465915) by having it mailed to 13650 Del Monte Drive Unit B24, Seal Beach, CA, 90740. Five such donations have been received so far. This approach not only fulfills a mandatory IRS requirement but also transforms a tax obligation into meaningful philanthropic action.
