First Christian Church
First Christian Church will hold a Christmas Eve service on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 4:30 p.m. There will be Christmas carols and fellowship. All are welcome to celebrate the birth of the savior, Jesus Christ.
Pastor’s Message
The prophet Isaiah prophesied of the birth of Christ to a virgin 700 years before. Isaiah 7:14 says, “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: ‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Immanuel.’” Immanuel means“God with us,” and it speaks of Jesus Christ. Isaiah 9:6 says “For unto us a child is born. Unto us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 2:1-20 provide a detailed account of the fulfillment of that glorious birth. John 1:14 simply puts Christ’s birth like this; “And the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full grace and truth.”
The birth of Christ is an event that changed the world. His birth is what believers celebrate every year.
