LW Pool Club wraps up the season with fi nal event

On Nov. 24, the LW Pool League held its sweepstakes, which is the final event of the season.

In the sweepstakes, every team from the Monday league plays one game of eight-ball against every team in the Wednesday league. Since there are six teams in each league, every team played six games.

Each team has three players, an A player, who is judged to be the strongest player, and a B and C player. If the A player makes a ball, then the B player shoots next, followed by the C player. That way every player gets to shoot an equal number of times.

After six games, the team that won the Monday league, R U Chalking 2 Me, was tied with The 3 Lads, the team that won the Wednesday league. This led to a one game playoff for first place money. Steve Edrich, the A player for R U Chalking 2 Me, made a straight in shot in the corner on the eight ball to win the playoff.

The winter pool league will start on Monday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. The Monday and Wednesday night leagues will play 15 weeks, with each team playing every other team three times.

In the eight-ball tournament held Nov. 22, Renato Villenueva and Guta Basner won six out of seven games to take first place.
