Join the LW Democratic Club for a special dose of holiday cheer at the club’s hospitality booth located outside Clubhouse 6 on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m.-noon. People are invited to warm their spirits with eggnog and cookies to share the goodwill of the season. Democratic Club volunteers will be ready to assist with voter registration, address changes, and party affiliation change during this time.
The booth is normally open on the first Tuesday and third Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. For more information, email Rachael Lehmberg at rlehmberg815@gmail.com.
The club extends gratitude to Nick Massetti for his highly informative presentation regarding the LW Cares Fund at its meeting on Dec. 9. The fund is an essential resource, offering financial relief to shareholders who are facing difficulties with their monthly assessments. The program is actively seeking both potential beneficiaries who qualify for assistance and donors interested in contributing to the fund’s continued success. Those who are interested helping or receiving help from the program can email lwcares@ lwcaresfund. org or call 562262-8280.
Those who are interested in volunteering with political or activist organizations can check out the LW Democratic Club’s recommended organization websites. These are organizations, like Indivisible and DPOC, the club has partnered with the past or attended demonstrations or protests with:
• Indivisible.org “Action by action, day by day, group by group, Indivisibles are remaking our democracy.”
• DPOC.org “DPOC has a series of monthly training to help “equip, engage and motivate leaders, partners and activist to win in 2026.”
• Defiance.org “Join a club of courageous Americans taking lawful, peaceful, action to defend democracy…”
• Swingleft.org “We’re changing how Democrats talk with voters to rebuild trust and win elections.” The Democratic Club’s membership meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month. The club will not meet on Dec. 24, but will meet on Jan. 28 at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
Join the club for lunch at Hof ’s Hut off Seal Beach Boulevard at 11:30 a.m., the first Wednesday of the month. The next lunch will be Jan. 7. For more information, email Debbie Wrathall at Debbiewrathall@mac.com.
The Voter Education session meets monthly. Session leader Bev Bender recommends downloading the “5 Calls” app for information on calling representatives.
