Shuffl eboard courts go quiet at end of fall season

The fall season of the Shuffleboard Club offi cially ended on Nov. 25. The winter league will begin in mid-January. Club members are excited about their Christmas party on Saturday night, Dec. 13, in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. It will provide a chance to socialize in between the fall and winter seasons.

Sandy Derouin, an experienced player, and Rita Filohoski, a new member who has only played twice, performed the impossible at the Nov. 19 Turkey Shoot. Both women scored 10 points each time their disc went through the hole in the middle of a wooden turkey placed in the center of lane one. This feat rarely happens. Derouin scored 40 points, going through the barricade four out of four times while Filohoski scored 80 points, managing to do the same thing through two games for double the score. The club congratulates them both for the rare accomplishments.

Tuesday, Nov. 18 results: Team Sue surpassed Team Karen. Team Sally squeaked by Team Harold 7-5. All-game winners were Lynn Baidack, Sue Burkschab, John Mount, Linda Peters, Stephanie Reagan and Ellie West.

Thursday, Nov. 20 results:

Team Lynne defeated Team Micki 8-4. Team Jack took Team Karen 8-4. All-game winners were Marilyn Blackmun, Steve Edrich, Lynne Haines, Teri James, Eileen Kotecki, Hoan Lekhac, Mary Lund, Karen Mendon and Doris Morton.

Friday, Nov. 21 results:

Team Patti walloped Team Shel 11-1. Team Rod upended Team Carol 7-5. All-game winners were Roger Bennett, Enrique Garcia, Carol Johnson, Marlene Levy, Patti Nemnich, Linda Peters and Ellie West.
