Scrabble Club meets every Wednesday in CH 3

The Leisure World Scrabble Club meets every Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 5.

The club met on the last two Wednesdays in October and on Nov. 5. There were 27 scores above 300 and 18 bingos (i.e. the use of all seven tiles in one move).

Jim Schneiderman led with seven scores higher than 300 and eight bingos. His totals ranged from 350 to 390. Also, he posted a 274 in a three-way game, equivalent to a 409 in a two-way game.

Suthy Edgar bettered 300 five times, with a range of 344 to 419. She had seven bingos and also recorded a score of 274 in a three-way game.

Larry Edgar, Sylvia Makus and Donna Perkins each topped 300 three times. Edgar’s range was 335 to 381; Makus’ was 320 to 358. Perkins, who had one bingo, had scores ranging from 313 to 332. — Larry Edgar
