If you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine or just good food, give Kabuto a try. It’s located right across Westminster Boulevard from Leisure World in the Hampton Inn area, next to Subway. It’s a simple comfortable place, not much atmosphere, but the quality of the food makes up for that.
Sushi is featured, but they also have bowls: teriyaki chicken bowl, super bowl (chicken and shrimp tempura) and the dragon bowl (beef and chicken). My dragon bowl was truly delicious and enough for two meals. There are many offerings available, including grilled salmon, beef and shrimp tempura, that are accompanied by salad, rice and veggies.
A full meal at less than $15 is an exceptional bargain for this quality. Most prices are very reasonable; a California roll is $6.95, a dragon bowl is $10.95, add miso soup for $2.50.
As for beverages, they had a wide assortment of soft drinks, hot tea and coffee. And for a special treat they also have Japanese beers and sake.
