Volunteer positions for the next tax program open

GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION

People often find filing their income tax returns overwhelming. The AARP Tax Program sponsored by the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) needs volunteers for the 2026 tax season. Volunteers will provide free tax preparation and e-filing to residents.

Prior experience is not necessary; all training and support will be provided. Volunteer positions include:

• Tax Aide: Work directly with taxpayers to prepare their tax returns (1-3 days a week for 4-5 hours).

• Client Facilitator: Greet clients and help organize their documents (1-3 days a week for 3-4 hours).

• Telephone Assistant: Schedule appointments for clients (one day a week for 5-6 hours).

To become a volunteer, people must be computer literate, attend training in January 2026, and be able to work 1-3 days a week during tax season, which is from Feb. 2-April 8, 2026.
