Shuffleboard Club Halloween potluck is Saturday
In its usual fashion, the Shuffleboard Club is celebrating major holidays together, and Halloween is no exception. A potluck party gets off the ground at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, in Clubhouse 1. The room will be ghoulishly decorated, the food should be plentiful, centerpieces will be creative and given away and, most important of all, costumes are encouraged but not required. As event coordinator Sally Fowler said, “If you feel like being a kid again, come in costume.” Fowler will be ably assisted by Arleen Cullison. The club’s favorite game of Left, Right, Center will be played at each table until about 9:30 p.m.
Gatherings like this always underscore what a friendly group the Shuffleboard Club is and how it puts down the welcome mat to both new and more experienced members.
President Karen Mendon announced at the Oct. 9 membership meeting that there were two new members and with three leagues and practices, 244 participants used the court facilities in the month of September.
Oct. 7 Tuesday evening results: Team Sally beat Team Sue 8-4. Team Bob and Team Karen had even 6-6 scores. All-game winners were Arleen Cullison, Sandy Derouin, Devon James, Linda Peters, Bob Peterson and Ellie West.
Oct. 9 Thursday afternoon results: Team Jack and Team Lynne tied scores at 6-6. Team Karen and Team Micki also had tied results 6-6. All-game winners were Roger Bennett, Enrique Gracia, Susan Hopewell, Teri James, Hoan Lekhac, Sally Nicewarner and Kirk Smith.
Oct. 10 Friday morning results: Team Shel outpaced Team Carol 7-5 and Team Patti overcame Team Rod 8-4. Allgame winners were Roger Bennett, Steve Edrich, Sally Fowler, Milly Larsen, Sal LaScala and Shel Magnuson.
