LW Baptist Church
LW Baptist worship will review what the Bible says about the great spiritual battle of the time on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 4.
Jesus said, “I will build my church,” and by the middle of the first century he had done so. He told his followers to make disciples of all nations, and on the day of Pentecost the Bible identifies more than a dozen nations that heard the gospel in, of all places, Jerusalem.
When Paul the apostle corresponded with the church of God at Corinth, he included in his address, “all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.”
The Bible therefore speaks of it as no surprise that the tempter seeks to reverse the inroads that Christ’s church has made in the kingdoms of this world. Paul refers to this as spiritual warfare. He says resisting the devil and his forces is not with weapons of the flesh, but of divine power that destroys false ideologies and brings every thought captive into obedience to Jesus Christ. In other words, as the Bible repeats in many places, “the battle is the Lord’s.”
