Ballots have arrived across California for the Nov. 4 election on Prop 50. For Leisure World residents ballots can be cast at the following locations:

• The official drop box located in the Amphitheater parking lot.

•The LW Post Office.

• Any USPS mailbox in LW.

• Any official voting center. The California Democratic Party is urging people to vote yes on Prop. 50. It is a temporary proposition, lasting only until 2030 with the new census. In this way, California is using the power of the voters to approve emergency maps. The LW Democratic Club canvassing teams are working hard in the community and can answer questions about Prop. 50. The Democratic Club membership meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month in Clubhouse 3, Room 2 at 1:30 p.m. People can arrive early and bring a lunch. Light snacks are served. On Oct. 22, the club hosted Stephanie Wade, an advocate for LGBTQ + and transgender rights.

Due to the holidays, there are some changes to the membership meeting timetable. The regularly scheduled meeting for Nov. 26 has been moved to the following week on Dec. 3. The normally scheduled December membership meeting is cancelled.

This month, the Democratic Club hospitality booth will be open every Tuesday and the third and fourth Thursdays from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Stop by and visit with like-minded individuals, register to vote, change address, or change party affiliation.
