Before buying or charging devices like e-bikes, scooters or power tools, people must always use the correct charger and replace damaged cords right away. Large devices should be charged outdoor away from anything flammable. Used batteries must be recycled at a proper battery recycling center. The following safety tips can help keep everyone safe while using the lithium-ion batteries:

• Purchase batteries that are listed by a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab.

• Never overload the outlet when charging any device with a lithium-ion battery.

• Store batteries in a cool, dry location.

• Never leave batteries in direct sunlight or a hot vehicle.

• Unplug the device once it is fully charged.

• Never charge the device under a pillow, on a bed or a couch.

• Keep lithium-ion batteries away from combustible materials when charging.

• Do not put discarded batteries together in a container or pile.

• Whenchargingabattery,keepaneyeforunusualodorornoises (hissing or buzzing), or leaking of liquid.

In case of a fire from the lithium-ion battery, leave the area immediately and call 911.
