Democratic Club

The LW Democratic Club and the Seniors for Peace Club will join together for a peaceful “No Kings” demonstration under the globe on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 2-4 p.m. Signs will be available or people can bring their own. This protest is in lockstep with the nationwide “No Kings” peaceful protest, planned by Indivisible and 50501. The last “No Kings” day broke records with 2,169 protests and 27 countries participating.

The California Democratic Party (CADEM) urges people to vote yes on Prop 50 on Nov. 4. Prop 50 is temporary, lasting only until 2030 with the new census. California is using the power of the voters to approve emergency maps. The LW Democratic Club’s canvassing teams have already begun to spread the word. Bev Bender is the chair of Voter Education and has scheduled the next session for Nov. 12, in Clubhouse 3, Room 3, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. For more information, email beverleybender@gmail.com.

Membership meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m. The November meeting has been moved to Dec. 3.

The Democratic Club Hospitality Booth is open every Tuesday and the third and fourth Thursdays from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Stop by and visit with like-minded individuals, register to vote, change address, or change party affiliation.
