Assembly of God

Elijah was not a popular guy. As a prophet, at God’s direction, he publicly revealed people’s sin and rebellion against God and provided an opportunity for repentance. 1 Kings, Chapter 18, recounts the event on Mount Carmel, where Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal to prove that their god was as powerful as Jehovah, God Almighty. The scripture describes the abysmal failure and dramatic end to Baal’s prophets’ petitions. When one calls upon the One True God, He will show up. Sometimes in small, personal ways, and sometimes in ways that demonstrate His omnipotence in a very public forum. Pastor Chuck brings the message, “Stand for the One True God,” on Sunday morning.

The Bible study will not meet this week. LW Assembly of God meets on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The Wednesday Bible study meets at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The Hymn Sing is held on the fourth Sunday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby.
