Velvetones will perform Oct. 5
GRF WEEKEND DANCE SCHEDULE
The Velvetones Ballroom Dance Orchestra is Leisure World’s own professional big band, playing big band swing and jazz standards. The band will perform Sunday, Oct. 5, from 6-9 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. The Velvetones play regularly at Clubhouse 4 on the first and third Sunday evenings and will be back on Oct. 19.
Legends of Rock on Oct. 18
The Legends of Rock will perform on Saturday, Oct. 18, in Clubhouse 4 at 7 p.m. All are welcome, but guests must be accompanied by the resident who invites them.
Legends of Rock carved out a reputation in Orange County, playing the top rock tunes from the ‘50s-‘80s. Led by Mutual 17 resident Jon Pearlstone, the group performs monthly under the LW Pickleball Club and always fills the house. This is their third GRF weekend dance appearance in 2025.
Country rock Halloween dance sponsored by SCAN
Abilene, Leisure World’s No. 1 country rock band, will perform Friday, Oct. 31, at Clubhouse 2 at GRF’s annual Halloween dance, sponsored by SCAN. Stop by their table for a special surprise. Costumes are optional but the house fills up fast. Free dance lessons will precede the performance starting at 6:30 p.m.
The band features Andre Dusomme on guitar and vocals, Jim Greer on drums, Vickie Van Ert vocals, Greg Johnson on keyboards and vocals, and Bob McAlister on bass and vocals.
