Learn about climate change and building community resilience
SENIORS FOR PEACE
Seniors For Peace will meet today, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. The featured speaker will be Lindsey Kirkland, education manager at Climate Generation, a nationally connected nonprofit focused on climate literacy, climate change education, youth leadership, and community engagement to accelerate action on the climate crisis.
Kirkland will speak to club members via Zoom with a presentation titled “Climate Change: Building Community Resilience.” This talk will explore how climate change may already be impacting communities and the solutions that are available in the local areas. This presentation will equip attendees with the basic knowledge needed to take climate action in their own community.
This program will be virtual and Climate Generation will provide the Zoom link, but there will be opportunities for attendees to interact and engage. This is also an opportunity for people who can’t make it to Clubhouse 3 to attend from home via their cell phones or computers. They can join the Zoom meeting at 2 p.m.
