LW Cares Fund pays small subsidy toward HOA fees

Moreandmorebuttons displaying “I Gave to the Leisure World Cares Fund” are being worn around the community by donors. The LW Cares Fund began accepting applications for aid this week thanks to a number of donors who have stepped up to provide the initial funds.

Those funds will now be used to provide a small subsidy toward the monthly payment of HOA fees. Initially that subsidy will not exceed $200/month for a 12-month period. The target client will be those residents on fixed incomes for whom rising HOA fees have become unbearable. It is an extensive qualification process, starting with an application form and including an interview to verify the information submitted on the form. The form can be downloaded at www.lwcaresfund.org/apply, sending an email to lwcares@lwcaresfund.org or by calling 562-262-8280. A form can also be delivered to the client’s unit upon request.

In order to maintain and expand the number of clients that can be helped, more donors are needed. Donors of any amount will be acknowledged on the fund’s website and with the button above.
