Assembly of God
At some point in their lives people may visit an ophthalmologist to investigate the sudden appearance of a spidery “floater” in their eye. After examination, one of the recommendations the doctor might make is to “not look at it.” Simple, but effective. One often focuses on a problem or unpleasant situation rather than seeing beyond the immediate discomfort and gaining higher perspective. Hebrews 12:2 encourages readers to “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” which is also the title of Pastor Chuck Franco’s sermon this Sunday, Sept. 7, at Assembly of God. Fixing one’s attention on Jesus will overcome distractions and doubts, bringing hope and victory.
Pastor and church planter Jorge Salazar who is currently located in Abbotsford, B.C., Canada, teaches on “Leadership as Servanthood,” as the study in Acts continues in the weekly Bible study. Jesus is the best model of servant leadership. Pastor Salazar shares how servant leaders can be effective, bring out the best in those they lead and follow Christ’s example.
