On Aug. 16, over 200 participants showcased their talents to a large crowd to showcase Korean culture and tradition, sponsored by the Korean American Association (KAA).

Throughout the show, emcee Anna Derby explained the cultural significance of dances, costumes and music to the crowd.

The Korean Drum Club opened the program with colorful costumes. In addition to traditional Samulnori, they performed traditional Korean songs and other popular songs. For the first time this year, the club played a rock version of the Korean national anthem.

Hyo Jung Chung’s soprano solo helped transition to the next program, where over 60 members of the co-ed Korean American Chorale sang “I shall Live in the Green Mountain,” “Bird, Bird, Blue Bird” and “God is My Refuge and Strength.”

The Joy Walking and Stretching Club promoted physical wellbeing during the event, with a well-known national exercise and stretching techniques.

The 13-member Gloria Auto Harp Club performed “Plaisir d’ Amour” and the “Sounds of Silence” under Monica Yoo’s leadership.

The audience heard the songs “The Twist of Love,” “Stand by Your Man” and “Beautiful Land of Korea” the Saxophone Club.

Clarinet soloist Min Joo Ra played “Schubert’s Serenade” and “Polka Polish Melody.”

Grace Ahn and her team of nine performed “God Bless America, “Arirang,” “Isadora” and “Always Remember Us This Way” in handmade costumes.

To end the night, the audience was asked to sing “Arirang,” and finished the evening by singing along with the “Spring in My Hometown.”

Lisa Landau the mayor of Seal Beach delivered a congratulatory remark to follow the GRF Board President, Linda Herman during the event.

The Sing Along Club's sang "Beautiful Dreamer," "One Heart" and "Nodle Riverside."
