Dancers & Mixers Club
A Dancers & Mixers Club dance will be held Tuesday, Sept. 2, in Clubhouse 4 from 7-9 p.m. The club will celebrate its 43th birthday this month.
The dances feature live music for ballroom dancing. Ballroom dancing is a great way to get out of the house, meet new people, all the while getting light exercise and working on balance.
Partners are not needed, as the club is a friendly group. There is no charge to join the club, but donations are accepted.
The live music is provided by accordionist Linda Herman, whose repertoire is vast. In a bygone era (before sheet music was digitized), she used to lug around a full-sized suitcase stuffed with sheets of music.
Now she uses a digital accordion, and she delights in mixing the sounds that it can make. People are invited to bring their own snacks and beverages.
