‘Elders’ inspire others on and off the golf course

At the Turtle Lake Golf Course in Leisure World, four golfers in their 90s gather every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday to play golf. The four golfers—Kim Sang Hyun, Joh Hee Keun, Soh Kyo Min and Michael Oh—are collectively known as the “elders” and are respected by all the golfers.

The four play two rounds of the par 3 course starting at 9 a.m., taking almost two hours to complete. Their peaceful golf swings and exemplary behavior inspire other golfers. They teach newbie golfers the rules and etiquette of the golf course and even help maintain the green. Visitors often comment, “This is paradise,” when they see these senior golfers. Their behavior and passion for golf inspire other golfers. Their passion and exemplary behavior will most surely inspire everyone.
