Seal Beach police seek volunteers

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

The Seal Beach Police Department is now accepting applications for its next four-week Volunteers in Policing Services (VIPS) Academy to be held in October. The classes will be held once a week. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for late September. Residents who want to give back to their community and support local public safety are encouraged to apply.

VIPS contribute to a variety of roles, including fleet and logistics support, records and administration, patrol observation, crossing guard assignments, assistance with parades and special events, staffing the Seal Beach Police Substation at the Pier, and supporting emergency response operations when needed.

Applications must be submitted no later than today, Aug. 14, at www.sealbeachpd.com/vips.
