Fifteen members of the Leisure World Men’s Golf League and guest Johnny Villareal competed at the 5,600yard par 71 Meadowlark Golf Course in Huntington Beach on July 25. The weather was initially overcast, but the clouds quickly burnt off and it became a lovely morning to play golf with friends. The tees, fairways and greens were in excellent shape with some residual muddy and wet spots. With the good weather and course conditions, nine of the 15 golfers shot net at or below par.

There were four birdies— two by Jim Goltra and one each by Gary Stivers and Chris Lankford. Goltra was closest to the pin on the 140-yard par 3 seventh hole and on the 16th hole it was Sam Choi. Fujio Norihiro had fewest putts in the A flight, and Mike Jimenez had the fewest for the B.
