Faith Christian Assembly

Aging isn’t for the faint of heart, but there is something beautiful about those who choose to continue to serve the Lord in the joy of the Lord. After all, Nehemiah 8:10 says “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” One of those people is Earlene Leming, who is the mother and mother-in-law to Faith Christian Assembly’s pastors, Gary and Sheri Leming, and is celebrating her 90th birthday next month.

Corrie Ten Boom is quoted as saying, “The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation.”

This giving is the life that Earlene has lived and continues to live in her devoted service to God. She has spent over 40 years in Aglow Prison Ministry serving in obedience to Hebrews 13:3,“Remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison.” She strives to bring hope to women in prison, as well as those released. Many at Faith Christian Assembly will remember the stories of Earlene driving for hours to deliver food and baby clothes to those who would have gone without otherwise. She continues to bless church members through her beautiful music at Faith Christian Assembly.

In celebration of Earlene’s transformation into a nonagenarian, she wants to bless the Faith Christian Assembly congregation with a concert celebrating decades of music that she has loved and enjoyed playing through her years. She will be joined at the piano by a few of the musicians in the family. All are welcome to join the celebration on Aug. 9 from 1-2 p.m. at Faith Christian Assembly. People are welcome to bring a card and stay after for some coffee, cake and fellowship.

Sunday service time at Faith Christian Assembly is 10:30 a.m., and midweek Bible Study is held Wednesday at 11 a.m.
