New traffic pattern in effect at LW’s main intersection
TRAFFIC SAFETY
New traffic patterns are in effect at the intersection of Golden Rain Road and St. Andrews Drive. The intersection now features a dedicated pedestrian crossing phase that stops all traffic, allowing pedestrians to cross in any direction.
In addition, protected left turn lanes were added for drivers traveling on east- and westbound Golden Rain Road.
Traffic and pedestrian signals at the intersection currently operate on separate, asynchronous cycles. Pedestrians should follow the pedestrian signals—specifically the red “stop” hand and green “walk” indicators—to know when it is safe to cross. Drivers should obey all traffic lights and posted signage.
The GRF Board approved the project in July 2024 in keeping with the findings of a traffic study to improve safety features at the intersection.
The east- and westbound lanes of Golden Rain Road now feature protected left turns, which make the intersection safer for both drivers and pedestrians.
