First Christian Church

First Christian Church teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

In Romans 5:1 the apostle Paul continues his letter to believers in Rome with,“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Paul set forth the great truth that God justifies sinners by his grace through faith, and faith alone.

In this chapter Paul writes on the subjects of having peace with God, standing in grace, hope of glory, receiving divine love, escape from God’s divine wrath and his joy in the Lord.

All these blessings flow to the believer through Christ. He is the mediator between God and man, and all God’s blessings are channeled through Jesus to those who have been justified by his grace through faith.

Weekly Services

Sunday services are from 9:30-10:45 a.m. and feature traditional hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Sharon Graves will sing the special song.

Saturday service includes contemporary songs of worship, led by Gregory Black. Saturday service time is from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

Midweek Studies

The Monday Women’s Bible Study led by Melli Herrera is on break until July 28. Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible study from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the Friday prayer and Bible study from 4-5 p.m.

Scripture of the Week

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own. For you have been bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
