SB councilman allocates $5,200 in district funds to LW nonprofi ts

Seal Beach City Council member Ben Wong recently allocated a collective $5,200 from his District 2 discretionary fund to Leisure World clubs and organizations.

Beneficiaries of the funds include the Golden Age Foundation, the LW Woman’s Club, the Emergency Information Council, the Filipino Association of Leisure World, the LW Historical Society and the LW Cares Fund, all of which are registered as 501(c)3 nonprofits.

Discretionary funds are allocated by each councilmember to support local initiatives, community organizations or specific projects within their districts.

“I’m proud to have arranged these donations to better help the clubs at Leisure World with their own service missions,” Wong said in an email.
