Presidents’ Council Meeting Recap

THE PRESIDENTS’ COUNCIL Clubhouse 4 and Zoom Tele-Video Conference The regular monthly meeting of the Presidents’ Council of Leisure World Seal Beach was convened at 1:30 p.m. by President Rich Carson on Wednesday, July 2 in Clubhouse 4 and via Zoom tele-video conference. The following is a recap:

• Presidents’ Council meeting minutes of May 7, 2025, were approved as printed.

• GRF President Linda Herman introduced herself as the new GRF Board president. Herman also provided an update on the new GRF Board members and ongoing projects.

• Optum representative Deanne Casari provided information on Optum Match and gave a brief explanation on the service that is provided to accommodate the members.

• Senior Director of Facilities Mark Weaver provided an update on the Multifamily Energy Efficiency program.

• PhysicalPropertyManagerKevinBlackprovidedanupdateon the Amphitheater renovations, traffic light project and the EV charging stations. Black also informed the council about the Stock Transfer Office renovation starting mid-July.

• Stock Transfer Manager Claudia Garcia provided an update on the Stock Transfer escrow report.

• Senior Director of Mutual Administration Jodi Hopkins provided an update on the Stock Transfer Department and on the Mutual Administration Department.

• The 2025 election results were also presented to the Council members. Mutuals 9 and 14 had 66%-member participation and received the trophies. This was the highest percentage of member participation during the 2025-2026 election.

• Interim Executive Director Dave Potter informed the Council regarding the legislative update on California Omnibus budget bill. Potter also provided information on a protest letter regarding the water rate increase in the city.

• The next meeting is on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. It will be streamed via Zoom tele-video conference and YouTube Live.
