Sunshine Club
The Sunshine Club will not meet on Friday, July 4, due to the GRF Fourth of July special event in Clubhouse 4 ( see page 1 for more details).
The club encourages members to RSVP to the club picnic on July 19 at the Clubhouse 1 picnic area. A meal from California Pizza Kitchen will include a chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado, plus a salad and brownie for $20 per person. The club will provide slices of watermelon. Those interested in joining the picnic should sign up with Deputy Treasurer Alice La Branche at a Sunshine Club meeting by Friday, July 11.
The Sunshine Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, from 10 a.m.-noon. The club invites guest speakers from both the Leisure World community and people with businesses and expertise outside the community to encourage members to get the most out of living in the community.
The Sunshine Club also has a “save the Earth” initiative that encourages members to use a mug for coffee at the meetings instead of a paper cup. People can bring their own or can donate $5 for a mug with Sunshine Club logo in either orange or green.
This month, the club will host neurologist Dr. Kevin Shah on July 11, Stefanie Bennette from How to Keep the Memory on July 18, and professional organizer Alice West from Transform Your Space on July 25.
