Learn fire prevention on July 25

LW COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM

The LW Community Emergency Response Team (LW CERT) will meet on Friday, July 25, at 9 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9 to discuss fire prevention tips, presented by president Catherine O’Brien. Residents will learn ways to lower the risk of a home fire, what not to use on a cooking fire, how to avoid overloaded outlets and many other tips.

LW CERT’s free monthly safety classes are 45 minutes long and all residents are welcome to join. Refreshments are provided. During the June safety class attendees learned how to shelter in place and how to identify critical items needed for various emergencies such as an earthquake, chemical spill or even an active shooter alert. Linda Bewley won the giveaway gift, which was a first aid kit.
