Annual potluck is June 25; volunteers needed for library
GENEALOGY CLUB
The Genealogy Club will meet June 25 for its annual summer brunch and potluck in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, at 10 a.m. A sign-up sheet is available at the front desk of the Genealogy Library. People should indicate their attendance and the side dishes they plan to bring. The club will provide the main course.
The club has begun a fund dedicated to replacing the old computers in the library. All of the club’s current equipment has been generously donated by members, but it is aging out. As the fund grows, the club will try to purchase updated equipment.
Anyone who wants to donate to this fund is welcome to do so. To that end, if any resident replaces a fairly recent computer (one that runs Windows 10 or 11) or know of anyone who might be, they are encouraged to consider donating the old one to the library.
The club’s Theme Thursdays are mini learning sessions or discussions held every Thursday from 1:30-2 p.m. in the Genealogy Library. The topic for June 19 is genealogy in Missouri. On June 26, the club will discuss Ancestry’s new network features.
The Genealogy Library is open Monday-Friday from 1-4 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and closed Sunday.
The club is always in need of volunteers for the Genealogy Library. People who are interested in volunteering, either as a substitute or regular library volunteer, should call 714-390-4213 or email lisnhow@gmail.com.
