The America First Republican Club met on June 18 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, for social time and a members meeting. Visitors and prospective new members are always welcome to attend.
The club’s information booth is typically set up on the third Monday prior to the monthly meetings outside Clubhouse 6 from 9-11 a.m., which coincides with the Golden Age Foundation’s hospitality hours. Club members host the booth and informally chat about issues that are of concern with people who stop by.
Topics for the June meeting included the new GRF Board of Directors, the club’s officer elections, Paul Kartinen’s presentation on the Constitution, Seal Beach water rate increases, the GRF RV lot and the Seal Beach’s Housing Element Environmental Study on Opportunity sites, and of current political events such as the mostly peaceful anti-ICE protests/riots.
The club’s mission is to educate, engage and activate members in their duty as citizens, including working to put like-minded candidates in positions of local, state, and federal government, including Leisure World governance. The club believes that the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness do not originate from the government, but from God. Integrity, transparency and fiscal responsibility are hallmarks of good government. It is the club’s responsibility to focus efforts on those goals.
