The following is the security report for the month of May. It has been edited for clarity.

Fire alarm sounded a false alarm. The unit was verified and cleared by the fire department.

A stove was left on, burning pots and pans. The stove was damaged, and the fire department cleared the smoke.

MISDEMEANOR THEFT (less than $950 in value): 4

A resident returned after a two-week vacation and found a bicycle missing from carport.

•May 5, 4:39 p.m., HCC

A resident reported his bicycle was stolen from the bike rack in front of the Health Care Center. Security went to bike rack location and found bicycle .

•May 20, 7:20 p.m., 1.8 Acres

An unknown person removed plants from a resident’s garden plot.

•May 23, 8:58 a.m., Mutual 5

An unknown person removed two vehicle tires from a

resident’s vehicle.

FELONY THEFT (more than $950 in value): 3

•May 11, 7:47 p.m., Mutual 3

A resident stated an unknown person removed his wallet from his kitchen table.

•May 19, 1 p.m., Mutual 5

A resident reported a delivery of gold to his residence was intercepted.

• May 29, 10:28 a.m., Mutual 14

A resident’s co-occupant who lived with him for four years, moved out and removed furniture, along with his socks and other clothing.

VANDALISM:4

A resident found the front window of the unit cracked.

•May 5, 8:07 a.m., Library

A screen and gate lock was damaged at the LW Library.

•May 13, 9:45 a.m., Mutual 14

A resident found the driverside door lock on his vehicle had been damaged.

A resident found scratches at the bottom of his front door.

Residents were involved in a dispute over a barking dog.

A resident complained about a neighbor’s barking dog. The

dog was barking on arrival, and Security issued a pet citation.

A resident reported dog running around without a leash. Security searched the area, but did not find the dog or owner.

• May 14, 11:46 a.m., Mutual 15

A resident complained about a neighbor’s barking dog. The dog was barking upon Security’s arrival, and the neighbor brought the dog inside.

Two dogs were barking. Security left a pet warning at the unit.

A resident in a moving vehicle struck a yellow post.

A resident reported a neighbor’s loud bathroom fan. Security spoke to the neighbor, who turned off the fan.

A resident heard a noise coming from the neighboring unit. No noise detected.

A resident reported an activated smoke alarm in the neighboring unit. No noise detected.

A resident reported a neighbor using power equipment after hours. Neighbor ceased activity after speaking with Security.

A resident stated she observed an unknown person that “didn’t belong here.” Security searched the area but did not find anyone.

Security assisted a resident with a family issue. The family member was put on the restricted entry list.

Residents were involved in a dispute regarding damage to a vehicle in a carport.

•May 14, 8:23 p.m., Mutual 3

Residents were involved in a verbal altercation regarding accusations of someone living in the attic.

• May 16, 12:24 p.m., Mutual 1

The trustee of the unit stated items were missing and the unit was in disarray from his last visit a few months ago.

•May 17, 9:18 p.m., Mutual 9

Seal Beach police were called to a report of domestic violence. The male resident was arrested.

• May 17, 6:40 p.m., Clubhouse 2

A resident involved another resident in a verbal altercation. One resident left before Security arrived.

•May 17, 3 p.m., Main Gate

A disoriented resident arrived at the gate. Staff members called for help, and the resident was transported to the hospital.

• May 19, 7:36 p.m., Mutual 15

A resident reported a vehicle stolen. The vehicle was later found in the community.

• May 22, 11:08 a.m., Mutual 4

A resident had issues with the landscapers in her Mutual.

•May 23, 3:15 p.m., Mutual 1

A resident complained about the smell of paint fumes from the neighboring unit being painted.

A resident stated an unknown neighbor had entered her patio and was looking at her storage unit without permission.
