The LW Democratic Club and the Seniors for Peace Club will once again team up to sponsor a protest demonstration outside the Main Gate in front of the Globe on Flag Day, June 14, from 2-4 p.m.

The demonstration will focus on the current administration’s increasingly authoritarian policies and actions. This local event will coincide with the “No Kings Day” demonstrations being sponsored nationwide by the Indivisible movement.

All concerned Leisure World residents and friends are invited to join the June 14 demonstration. Wheelchairs and mobility aid users are welcome. Attendees can also bring folding chairs if they want or need them.

Everyone attending is urged to bring their GRF ID cards to ensure re-entry through the Main Gate after the rally. Also be advised that there is no parking available outside the gate between the Security Office and the Globe. Parking is available in the lot across from Clubhouse 1 by the golf course and along Del Monte Avenue.

Participants are invited to bring signs used at previous demonstrations or make a new one today, June 12, in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, from 10 a.m.-noon. There will also be extra signs available at the rally.

The Seal Beach component of the nationwide Indivisible movement sponsored demonstrations will be held on June 14 from noon- 3 p.m. at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. Information about this and other demonstrations taking place in the area and elsewhere can be found at the www.mobilize.us.

The next membership meeting will be Wednesday, June 25, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m. All current and potential members are invited to arrive as early as 12:30 to socialize with other like-minded residents. Club members who are unable to attend in person can join the meeting by Zoom. Contact lwsbdemocraticclub@gmail.com
