Father’s Day month is an opportune time to reflect on the importance of fathers. Many of the problems people have these days spring from the fact that they are negligent in obeying the command in Proverbs 23:22 which says “Listen to your father, who gave you life…” So why aren’t people listening to their fathers? There are many godly men who love their families in the way Scripture commands. But how many are allowing themselves to be robbed of the wisdom of father? The word of God cautions believers with several examples of the pitfalls that are ahead in the lives of families when father is disregarded. Alternatively, believers also have a positive example in father Abraham in Genesis 18:19: “I know him that he will command his children and his household after him, that they shall keep the way of the Lord to do justice and judgement.”

Faith Christian Assembly encourages fathers of all ages to keep speaking into the lives of their family. A father’s words will prove powerful against negative influences.
