First Christian Church

First Christian Church teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

In Romans 2, the apostle Paul explained that the mere possession of the Mosaic Law given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai or the rite of circumcision given by God to Abraham could not save the Jews from the righteous judgement of God.

Romans 3 discusses Paul’s argument regarding the righteousness of God’s judgement towards Jews and Gentiles, highlighting his qualifications as a Pharisee and persecutor of the church.

Paul poses several questions that an objector of his teaching would ask concerning the righteous judgement of God.

Paul’s credentials included being circumcised on the eighth day of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews. He was a Pharisee, persecuted Christians, and was, according to the law, “blameless.” Who would be more qualified to deal with the issues of the law, and circumcision, the sign of God’s covenant with Abraham and his descendants than the apostle Paul? Only Jesus.
