All are invited to the eighth annual LWSB Life Options Expo on Friday, June 27, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Clubhouse 4 and Veterans Plaza. This popular annual event brings together nonprofits, service providers and local vendors to showcase a wide range of resources that can help enhance residents’ quality of life.

The most effective way to age gracefully is by taking a proactive approach to one’s health, and the Life Options Expo offers the ideal opportunity to start.

At the expo, attendees can connect with representatives from nearby hospitals and health providers, get expert guidance on making the most of their health insurance, explore memory care options, and learn about free mental health services available in the area.

Staying healthy is about more than visiting the doctor. Learning about local providers can help people feel more confident in their health care decisions, especially in emergencies when time is limited. People managing chronic conditions, looking for preventative care or navigating healthcare options for a loved one can benefit from researching local options before they’re needed.

Representatives from UCI Health, Kaiser Permanente, Primary Care Associates of California, and LW’s own Optum Health Care Center will be on hand to answer questions and offer valuable insights. Event sponsor and LW neighbor Seal Beach Rehabilitation, located on North Gate Road, will provide information on restoring function and mobility after an operation or illness. Individuals who have trouble getting to doctor’s appointments can learn about traveling doctors from event sponsor Senior Doc.

Beyond selecting the right care, people should also ensure they’re taking full advantage of their health insurance. Health insurance and Medicare agents can provide detailed, personalized guidance to ensure people are making informed decisions about their coverage. A wide array of agents will be on-site to answer questions.

In addition to healthcare, the expo features a wide range of vendors offering information on advanced planning, assisted living, hospice care, caregiving, senior services, emergency preparedness, transportation, vision and hearing support, and much more.

Live music for the event will be provided by Leisure World musicians. The event will also feature a super raffle with an array of prizes and food from Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ, Koffel’s food truck and Scooters Italian Ice.
